Courtney Satow, BS, CD(DONA), E-RYT200, INHC, AADP

Hi there! I'm excited you are here. The purpose of NutriZen is to provide women a service that takes their whole picture into account. Having a holistic approach to health, wellness, and lifestyle in general is what has shaped me into the person I am today. I am not about a one size fits all to ANYTHING! Sure, I may have my opinions but most of the time it has to do with my own personal beliefs or what has worked well for ME. I want to provide you with the best information and support that works best with your outlook on life, body makeup and beliefs, not my own.

Over the last 10 years I have educated myself in a way that seamlessly brought me to wear I am today. Those letters after my name, they all have an important meaning and they have prepared me for this work.

BS: Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, Emphasis in Wellness

CD(DONA): Certified Birth Doula through DONA International

E-RYT200: Registered Yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance with over 200 hours of training and experience (Working towards 500 hour designation)

INHC: Integrative Nutrition Health Coach

AADP: American Association of Drugless Practitioners Accredited Member

NutriZen has taken many turns over the years but I know it has gone in the right direction. My primary focus now is womens wellness for pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Becoming a Birth Doula was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It's something I would have never seen coming but everything fell into place exactly as it was supposed to. After working for years in health and wellness along with teaching yoga, I decided to take a prenatal yoga teacher training as a means to better support my pregnant students. This training opened my eyes to this whole new world of all that is pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. I was immediately hooked and wanted to soak in every last ounce of information. I fell in love with teaching prenatal yoga. Having never experiencd pregnancy or childbirth myself, I decided to enroll in a Birth Doula certification program to ultimately educate myself more and work towards becoming a better resource for the women coming to my classes. I dove in headfirst and the week after my training I attended my very first birth. I have never felt more emotions hit me all at once. I was on a high yet exhausted. I was anxious yet completely at ease. I was excited for all that was to come. From that point on I new this was the world I wanted to be living in. What an honor to be there for a woman and her partner during what can potentially be the most difficult yet special day of their lives.

I became pregnant myself in 2017 and continued to take birth clients into my second trimester. My pregnancy was filled with many ups and downs. It was difficult, especially in the beginning. My labor... it was LONG..,just so long! And postpartum...nothing I could have prepared myself for as far as recovery. With that said, I am happy, I am healthy and I was SUPPORTED. I had a team of people who supported me during my pregnancy and postpartum and thats all you could ask for. I am so incredibly in love with my beautiful little girl, Sawyer. My husband, Kyle, is my best friend and seeing him with our daughter is my greatest joy. I am grateful for my journey because I believe that everything I went through trained me and educated me for how to better support my clients and students.

I am pleased to offer a weekly prenatal yoga class at Allomi Studio every Wednesday night at 5:30. I also offer private pre/postnatal yoga classes. Be on the lookout for different Mommy and Me series classes along with collaborations and workshops throughout the year. You can find most of my updates through my social media @CourtneyNicoleSatow.

My background is in health and wellness starting my business, "Courtney Hermann Wellness", in 2010. This has evolved over the years becoming "Healthy Makeovers" and then "NutriZen" once fully implementing Yoga into my practice. A former Division II soccer player, I have always been interested in the human body, how it works, and what we can do to make it work more efficiently. I managed to gain close to 35 pounds my freshman year of college and that really threw me for a loop. Working to better myself over the course of a year I decided to dedicate my studies on just that...wellness. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology, emphasis in Wellness and shortly after enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I completed my certification in the Professional Training Program becoming a Holsitic Health Coach. Realizing that the majority of my clientele struggled with stress and self worth, I felt compelled to do a yoga teacher training. Aside from my Doula certification, this was a decision I am eternally grateful for when it comes to life changing events. Yoga is a true passion and I am so happy I am able to now combine this with the world of maternal health.

You can find a full list of my classes in the calendar tab or book a yoga sesson with me privately. I offer Pre/Postnatal, Vinyasa Flow, Yin, and Restoratives.
